Misye Nan Mitan I

Misye Nan Mitan I is a mixed media etching which combines the etching of a small French town with both the national flowers of France (the Iris), and of Haiti (the Hibiscus) painted with watercolor. The use of different artistic techniques used in this final artwork especially with the watercolor shows the weight of the difference between the different cultures. The Iris has more defined cleaner lines, while the hibiscus has thicker, more abstract strokes.
